Big Trouble For Music Star D'Banj Over CREAM Project
Dapo Oyebanjo the musician popularly known as D’Banj is in a mess.
And it all revolves around the claims made by his empowerment platform, Cream.
The Talent Hunt Reality show which means Creative, Reality, Entertainment, Arts and Music is doused with damning allegations of making failed promises to those who paid to be a part of it.
The development which rocked the Koko Master’s initiative had it agents arrested in Owerri – Imo state.
Sources disclosed the arrested team had Baglo a good friend of Dbanj’s manager Frank as the leader.
Sources disclosed “interestingly Baglo and his team was arrested over the inability to pay hotel bills, it was at the police station that officers on duty discovered the date on the campaign materials for the reality show they are urging the people to be a part of is past!” a source disclosed.
The case turned from failure to pay hotel bills to fraudulent act against the public with Cream.
Insiders disclosed that it took “extraordinary pleas” by the arrested agents before they were let off the hook and released to their debtors.
The police ordered them to shred all the campaign materials and erase all the publicity letterings and images on their buses urging the public to pay to be a part of the reality show.
The hotel management seized their “properties including phones and laptops” before letting them go.
How did the issue of unpaid hotel bills crop up?
Insiders disclosed Baglo through Frank secured the deal to handle campaign and stage Cream in Imo state for D’Banj.
“Certain fees were agreed on but Dbanj failed to fulfill them…he gave them just enough to hit the road from Lagos and just let them go” societynow.ng learned.
Insiders disclosed although his manager picked calls during the agents turbulent period in Owerri, the singer refused to “bail them out” by paying outstanding fees.
“Even the money to pay the hotel bills because he told them to carry on before they lodged, he didn’t pay” a source stated.
Insiders disclosed back in Lagos, the traumatized agents are threatening fire and brimstone to get their due – in the bid to recover seized valuables – and more in name of compensation.
