Crisis Rocks APC Over Plot To Remove Saraki, Deputy Ekweremadu

Emerging details have it that it isn’t all peace and love in the camp of those out to get Senate President Bukola Saraki.

“Particularly among Senators out to unseat him and take over mantle of leadership in the Senate” societynow.ng learned.

Senate President Bukola Saraki just defected from the ruling political party, All Progressives Congress to opposition People’s Democratic Party.

The development effective puts the leadership of the Senate in the hands of the opposition with Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu also a PDP Member.

The All Progress Congress Senators in the majority with – with three members more than the PDP in the Senate – have been exploring means to kick out Saraki and Ekweramdu and take over positions of Senate President and Deputy Senate President.

But there is said to be great conflict amongst the APC Senators about how to go ahead with plot, especially regarding who become Senate President and Deputy Senate President.

Societynow.ng learned at the beginning of the plot Senator Hope Uzodinma was penciled down as Senate President.

But a covert campaign within the APC Senators was launched against him based on allegations of ‘’alleged corruption’’ and Ahmed Lawan toppled him as possible replacement for Saraki.

‘’even Lawan chances of succeeding Saraki if they achieve their agenda does not have the full support of all APC Senators’’ societynow.ng learned.

There are said to be other interests pushing for Senator George Akume as the perfect replacement for Saraki as Senate President.

The Akume’s loyalists are said to be unrelenting in their push, though Lawan appears to have the higher numbers of support amongst those contending to replace Saraki.

Displaced Uzodinma is being considered for the position of Deputy Senate President – there are others also eyeing the position – , if the planned removal of Saraki succeeds societynow.ng learned.
Though the APC Senators through Magnus Abe denied it, widespread reports indicate the invasion of the National Assembly by masked men yesterday – August 8 2018- was a daring attempt to sack Saraki and Ikweremadu by the APC Senators.

‘’the plot was to prevent the PDP Senators access while the APC Senators seat and impeach Saraki and Ekweremadu based on trumped charges ‘’ reports here and there asserts.

The unresolved fight for who becomes what amongst the APC Senators reportedly resulted in the leak of the plot to the Saraki camp and the cascading events that foiled the move – including alleged involvement of the international community that engaged President Muhammadu Buhari.

The misadventure earned Director General of the State Secret Service , Lawal Daura who deployed masked to allegedly provide cover for the APC Senators immediate sack by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

President Muhammadu Buhari is out of the country on ‘’vacation’’.

The Sack was reportedly situated on ‘’breach of national security’’ with the invasion of the National Assembly.

There are raging theories over deep and far yesterday’s ill fated plot to allegedly change the leadership of the Senate runs with the names of APC Chairman Adams Oshiomole and even those of President Muhammadu and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo being bandied as ‘’involved’’.

What is however clear from Societynow.ng’s digs is that a lot of narratives are being churned out to color the real reason Daura was sacked as the D.G of the State Security Service.
