ARHF, NGO To Tackle Poor Handling Of Women Reproductive Health For Launch In Lagos On May 22

The incessant cases of poor handling of women reproductive health issues by health institutions would be on the front burner as an Non Governmental Organisation, ARHF is launched on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the Whitehouse Hotel and Event Centre, Toyin street, Lagos.

ARHF stands for Abebi Reproductive Health Foundation and is the brainchild of a group of medical personnel and a media practitioner, Ladi Taiwo of Black Heritage Radio (BHR), a United Kingdom based online radio platform in memory of his sister, Oluwakemi Olabisi Abebi Omirin (nee Taiwo) who died in November 2018 following a botched procedure to remove an ovarian cyst at a private hospital in Ogba, Lagos.

The foundation intends to educate, guide and support women who might have been diagnosed of ovarian cyst or fibroid on and about second opinions and other forms of treatment. Where surgery is inevitable, it shall recommend qualified and experienced Reproductive health personnel who would carry out such in a safe, hygienic environment.
According to Taiwo "the number of women that are lost to this health procedure is alarming and it is time something is done to arrest the such ugly trend"

"We are therefore inviting the public, especially women and media practitioners to the launch so as to gain valuable knowledge about ovarian cyst and fibroid as well as options open to those suffering from it"
